Pre-Operative Exercise Timeline:
Starting a moderate exercise routine which involves light aerobic and strength exercises 3-4 times per week prior to your surgery will help improve:
Improve your fitness
Reduce The Risk Of Complications
Help With Faster Healing After Your Procedure
4 weeks prior to your surgery:
Aim To Walk a Minimum of 15 Minutes Per Day
Straight after your walk do 10 squats, 10 push-ups (against the kitchen bench) and 10 bicep curls (with light weights or an elastic band)
Increase your walks by 5 minutes every week and add 2 repetitions to your squats, push-ups and bicep curls

Post-Operative Exercise Timeline:
After your procedure, it is very important to start an exercise program. It will help you recover more quickly and improve your circulation.
First 4 weeks after you leave hospital:
It is safe to start walking straight away. Aim to walk 10-15 minutes every day but avoid any heavy lifting or bouncing exercises for the first 6 weeks
Increase your walking time by 5 minutes every week for the first 4 weeks
Stretch daily focusing on your hamstrings, calves and chest muscles
After the first 4 weeks:
Now is the time to start including strengthening exercises into your routine. During the course, you will learn what sort of exercise and combinations will best support your recovery process. You will be set up with 12 weeks of exercise routines which progressively increase in intensity.
